RESUMO
O aborto pode ser trabalhado sob diferentes paradigmas, entre eles a bioética. O presente artigo é um ensaio reflexivo sobre o problema do aborto, com base em revisão do contexto histórico e a aplicação da bioética como um novo campo de conhecimento e, ainda, uma corrente de pensamento que vem se desenvolvendo amplamente no Brasil. Busca-se contextualizar o aborto e a bioética, com um posicionamento na perspectiva bioética. Pode-se concluir, provavelmente, que os profissionais de assistência, em geral orientam-se pelo critério da beneficência, os pacientes pelo da autonomia e a sociedade pelo de justiça. A bioética vai ser um elemento a mais na busca de reflexão adequada sobre este tema.
The abortion procedure may be regarded and considered by many different paradigms, bioethics being one of them. The present article is a reflexive study regarding abortion from the revision of its historical context and the application of bioethics as a new of knowledge and a line of thought which has been widely brewing and developing in Brazil. The authors aim to contextualize the abortion and bioethics, positioning it from the bioethics perspective. One may conclude that probably professionals in the health area are duly orientated by the criteria of beneficence, the patients by the criteria of autonomy and society by the criteria of justice. Bioethics is going to be another element in the search for an adequate reflection regarding this very subject.
